The draft RIMP 2009-2014 is out of step with the Rottnest Island Authority Act 1987 - in fact it pre-empts a proposed review of the Act.
Many of you have made submissions to the draft RIMP - as we have.
We do not know what will be the outcome of the draft RIMP - whether it will be modified at all because of comments received during the public comment process.
We may only know that when the final document is released by the Minister for Tourism and is gazetted.
We believe that it is very important to DELAY the RIMP - until either the Act is reviewed or the draft RIMP is realigned with the Act.
Therefore we URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP. We need a solid campaign of: following up with more letters to the Minister, the Premier and other MPs; writing letters to editors; emailing or phoning radio presenters and emailing friends and others to do the same.
